“Green shoots of recovery”? We don’t think so.

If you have been following the news and mass media, you have probably picked up on talk of “green shoots” and a slow recovery in progress with respect to the global economy.
Either this is a concerted effort to stimulate confidence in the consumer, or the talking heads and financial pundits are a few light years away from reality.
If you are Joe on Main Street, there is a high probability you will not agree a recovery is in progress. There is a high likelihood you are out of work, perhaps sharing an apartment with another family, standing in job lines for hours, trying to sell your house at a ridiculous discount, rationing on food and simple enjoyments… this does not sound like recovery to us.
If you think the credit crisis was a big whollop to the economy, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. We are starting to hear rumblings of a crisis in commercial real estate, prime mortgages and Alt-A mortgages. There are deep problems in these areas, and they have not yet begun to surface in mainstream media. But they will, and you will feel it.
We don’t really listen to main stream media. We watch it now and then; but quite honestly, we don’t trust much of the filtered and highly edited news that comes out of those bobbing heads. Of course, they don’t want to create panic, so they temper the news - try to focus on areas of recovery, and deal with the creeping catastrophe when it crashes on our heads.
We are not going to wait around for that to happen. We have a very good pulse on the world markets, we have our feelers out everywhere. And we are loading up on gold and gold stocks, especially well run gold penny stocks.
